History of the Burbank HealthCare Foundation
The Burbank HealthCare Foundation formerly owned and operated the Burbank Community Hospital, which had been in existence since 1907. During the time it owned and operated the hospital, the Burbank HealthCare Foundation was actually named the Burbank Community Hospital Foundation.
In 1990 the Foundation sold the hospital, but the Foundation continued to function using the proceeds from the sale. After this happened, The Foundation’s new objective was to establish, maintain and assist nonprofit organizations which serve the HealthCare needs in and around the community of Burbank.
In 1997, the Foundation changed its name from Burbank Community Hospital Foundation to Burbank HealthCare Foundation in order to better reflect its purpose. Presently, the Foundation continues to be a grant-giving organization and provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations. In addition, the Foundation has recently expanded its grant-giving function to include medical related scholarships. |
